Water Chestnut Hand Pull

IMG_0537The water chestnut is an invasive plant that can clog waterways, cause fish kills, tangle up boats and lower the value of shoreline property. Each year, to help with the effort to control aquatic invasive species, volunteers help with a water chestnut hand-pull harvest. Helpers turn out on the weekends in July in canoes and kayaks. If you are interesting in helping send an e-mail to outreachswcd@rochester.rr.com
